About the Project: I’m feeling very inspired by and drawn to hand-drawn type at the moment – partly because it can look unique, personal and full of a charm that computer fonts rarely have. I also am trying to make more stuff by hand and spend less time at the computer.  So I drew this card for a friend’s wedding, and found it really enjoyable to do.  I forgot something that I would have known when I was eleven, however – markers make your pen lines bleed and it’s difficult to get smooth areas of colour.  I’ll try crayons or pencils next time.

About the Project: This collage was done as an assignment for a summer course in Principles of Graphic Design in NCAD. I used to do lots of collages when I little and I remembered why – they’re fun, the paper and scissors take your artwork in unexpected directions, and you get to concentrate in a really enjoyable, stick your tongue out the side of your mouth kind of way.

About the Project: My tremendous friend Bren got me cross-stitching for the first time in years by sending me an excellent kit from Sublime Stitching (it reads ‘Don’t Make Me Cut You’). I did a design of my own for my tiny sidekick.
